Sr. Fire Alarm Technician

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Primary Purpose and Function

 

The Sr. Fire Alarm Technician will be skilled with installations, troubleshooting and repair services and will be well versed in Fire Alarm and Security Systems as well as having exposure to Surveillance Systems and Access Control.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Install, program and trouble shoot fire alarm systems
  • Project Management skills
  • Be able to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment and Fire Alarm software installation
  • Runs electrical wiring in the installation process in attics, crawl spaces etc. to include drilling, trenching, and aerial runs
  • Completes all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract requirements
  • Troubleshoots new system installations to ensure that they are functioning properly and that they meet local, county, state, and/or federal codes and any licensing and/or insurance requirements
  • Manage and supervise Jr. technicians as required
  • Manage several medium to large jobs concurrently and doing so within approved hours and margin tolerances
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned such as job-site clean-up
  • Overnight travel may be required on an as-need basis

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • ≥5 years of experience in the Fire Alarm industry installing field devices, programming systems and running medium to large sized jobs required
  • Familiarity with Siemens Pro Series panels
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70, 72 and 101

  • Possess proper state licensing once hired (MA – Low Voltage D license)
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record

  • NICET Certification is a plus

 

Sr. Installation Technician / Service Technician

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
Department:  Operations

Reports to: Director, Field Operations

Primary Purpose and Function

The Sr. Installation Technician will perform installations of access control equipment and CCTV systems including cable management, electronic locks, Wi-Fi locks, card readers and associated door devices.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Project Manager regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment
  • Be able to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment and security software installation
  • Runs electrical wiring in the installation process in attics, crawl spaces etc. to include drilling, trenching, and aerial runs
  • Completes all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract requirements
  • Troubleshoots new system installations to ensure that they are functioning properly and that they meet local, county, state, and/or federal codes and any licensing and/or insurance requirements
  • Manage and supervise Jr. technicians as required

Installation Technician

Primary Purpose and Function

The Installation Technician will perform installations of access control equipment and CCTV systems including cable management, electronic locks, card readers and associated door devices.

  • Run electrical wiring in a crawl-spaces; related activities to include: drilling, trenching, and aerial runs
  • Responsible for the connection of field devices and wire concealment
  • Under the direction of a Sr. Technician or Project Manager, complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract requirements
  • Under the direction of a Sr. Technician or Project Manager, test new system installations to ensure that they are functioning properly and that they meet local, county, state, and/or federal codes and any licensing and/or insurance requirements
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned such as job-site clean-up
  • Overnight travel may be required on an as-need basis

Knowledge and Skills

  • ≤3 years of experience in the physical security industry installing field devices
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude

Enterprise Account Executive (Sales/Hunter)

Primary Purpose and Function

The achievement of sales goals through the development of new Enterprise Security Sales in the New England market. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Exceed sales goals as established by the organization
  • Identify & develop new enterprise level customer prospects
  • Utilize consultative sales techniques in customer development situations
  • Preparation and presentation of company offerings to end-user customers
  • Aggressively grow service and maintenance agreements as part of solution selling process
  • Determine hosted, managed, monitored sales opportunities with new customer prospects
  • Preparation of timely and accurate solution proposals
  • Maintain quality assurance by following organization standards
  • Design security proposals using approved technology products and labor estimating tools

Project Manager

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Reports to: Director, Field Operations

Primary Purpose and Function

The Project Manager plans, organizes, directs and motives the project teams, controls project-planning and performance activities for effective management of electronic security installation projects to include, but not limited to, all aspects of systems scheduling, engineering resources, field installation, commissioning, ensures customer satisfaction and financial success. Responsible for overall project budget management, project surveys, material procurement, project implementation, inspection scheduling, client acceptance and turnover to the service department. The Project Manager must be capable of executing multiple projects varying in size and complexity on time and within budget through effective communication, preparation, and management techniques.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active and effective communications with vendors, internal and external customers while balancing time versus profits to make sure efforts reflect and anticipated return (revenue, growth and customer retention)
  • Consistently and effectively determine, allocate, and maximize available resources through project planning to ensure the achievement of sales and project management objectives
  • Establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive practices as they relate to multiple markets
  • Implements changes in project, contract price, and installation plans to include the estimation, development, and submission of Change Orders
  • Support company's invoicing and collection efforts by not only ensuring all contractual terms and conditions are met initially, but by ensuring all invoicing is completed accurately and on time by aggressively monitoring the reports in ERP System and following up with customers management and customers on a consistent basis
  • Manage Project budget and project P&L responsibility
  • Prepares the project installation plan, manages the plan and prepares and implements job procedures
  • Develops and maintains construction schedules and coordinates task-scheduling with other trades
  • Maintains all records of job status, job changes, and material flow
  • Defines project problems by working with financial, contract management and management tools to assure project profitability
  • Plans and schedules engineering, installation and subcontracting activities on large and/or complex systems
  • Supervise installation labor and sub-contractors
  • Prioritize team workload to ensure quality results are delivered on time and within budget
  • Troubleshoot project issues and engage appropriate management and resources as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the electronic security industry or 2+ years of related low voltage field required
  • CSPM, PMP certification desirable
  • Solid knowledge of PM techniques and tools, general knowledge of contract laws and regulations
  • Factory certifications in relevant technology platforms is a plus (Genetec
    Identicard, Brivo, Exacq, S2 etc.).
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers

Solutions Engineer / Estimator

FLSA Status:  Exempt
Department:  Sales
Location:  Salem, NH
Reports to:   President / Sales Manager

Primary Purpose and Functions

  • Develop engineered solutions that map customer business requirements to security technology solutions
  • Generation of technical scopes of work (SOW) and detailed design narratives for engineered solutions and associated cost estimates
  • Manage engineering and estimation process to include interfacing with multiple representatives of sales, management, and customer teams
  • Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and technical/functional design specifications to prepare compliant engineered solutions
  • Research emerging technologies in support of security integration solutions
  • Interface with product and distribution partners to obtain systems, device, and equipment pricing during engineering process
  • Support Sales Team by participating in technical discussions and meetings with customers and/or product partners
  • Support the Sales Team in customer facing ROI discussions and technical presentations
  • Maintain quality assurance by following organization standards

Knowledge and Skills

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant experience with integrated electronic security solutions or 5 years of experience in a pre-sales support/engineering position
  • Industry technology certifications such as PMP or CPP; or product specific such as Genetec, S2, Brivo, Identicard, Exacq, Milestone, Avigilon, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; capable of managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate with people via email, over the phone, and in person is required
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Word)
  • Strong ERP system navigation and reporting skills
  • Ability to travel locally (15-20%) on as needed basis
